SPRING UPDATE: Where Have I Been?

Hey, Stranger! It's no real secret I've taken quite the hiatus from blogging over the last two-and-a-half months, but I'm making my way back here to say that I'm picking up right where I left off, and moving full-steam ahead! There are a few changes coming to the blog and my social media that I think will be more beneficial for me, as a person, and help me connect more with my "audience" - although honestly, I hate that word. One of my new, main goals for the blog and my social media in general is to make real connections with those of you that follow me and read the blog. I hope to engage more with you all one-on-one, instead of letting my voice echo throughout the internet, wondering if anyone can hear. In a day and age full of "social media influencers" and celebrities, I realize that for most, I will be just another face in the crowd, and that's fine by me. BUT, my original purpose of the blog stays the same: to foster community among other new moms who are navigating some of the same waters that I am in right now.

Life looks a little different since I last posted on the blog: I started a new job at the end of April and am no longer working from home, which has presented me with a new set of challenges but also was the BEST possible decision I could have made for myself and my family. Ezra is inching closer to his first birthday, and I am officially NOT READY to accept the fact that in a few short months I'll have a one-year-old. It's so fun to see him learn something new almost every single day.
I took up another hobby while I was away, and began practicing embroidery! As a perfectionist who normally hates failure AND the time it takes to learn a new skill, embroidery came surprisingly easy to me and I have loved the few, little projects I've worked on so far. I'm no where near an "expert", but it's a nice, relaxing hobby that is very forgiving when you leave it by the wayside for a few weeks, then decide to pick up again. I am definitely thankful for that.

I plan to have a more "relaxed" posting schedule on the blog, which for you means that you can expect a new post every Monday and Wednesday going forward. Before, my goal was to post three times per week, but my life at the time was not very compatible with that sort of schedule, and I found myself getting stressed and burnt out trying to crank out so many posts per week, plus try to keep up with social media. Instead of adding another blog post to the week, I have decided to send out my e-mail newsletter every other Friday, beginning with this Friday (May 18). If you aren't subscribed to my e-mail list, but you're interested in whats to come on the blog, or are interested in more personal & casual dialogue with me, you can subscribe here! I also plan to engage more on social media and just be more present and interactive with my followers, AND those of you who I LOVE to follow. If you'd like to keep up with me on social media, feel free to click the links in the side bar, and make sure you're following! Also, I'd love for you to leave a comment on a recent post and introduce yourself, or send a direct message! I hate the thought that I am on a pedestal, looking down over my social media as someone who is "above" my readers/followers, in any sense of the word. Truthfully, I am a completely average, normal person and potentially way more relatable than you'd expect from the stereotypical "lifestyle blogger" or "influencer".
So, all that being said, be sure to interact with me on social media, or send me a message through the contact form on the blog. I am excited to get back to writing, and excited for the fresh ideas and perspective I have this time around. And, I am excited that you're along for the ride! :)
