Weekly Meal Plan 1/28 - 2/4 (+ My 3 Favorite Kitchen Gadgets)

Last week on Instagram, I asked you all if you'd rather see weekly meal plans every week or every other week, and the overwhelming majority of you voted for every week. So, here I am again! I'm so glad you enjoy seeing and following along with my meal plan, hopefully as much as I enjoy making it. Along with this weeks plan, I wanted to share my top three kitchen gadgets that I couldn't live without.

      1. Meat Thermometer // I'm such a food nerd, I seriously LOVE my meat thermometer. When I first started cooking, I was always paranoid about undercooked meat, which led to me overcooking everything by a long shot. In my mind, if it was tough and dry, then it was fully cooked (boy, was I wrong!) What I love about this specific thermometer by Diliss, is that it has a little cheat sheet printed directly on it, which tells you the optimal temperature for each type of meat and or seafood. I purchased this on Amazon last year, and I can say with confidence that I haven't overcooked anything since I've had this thermometer!

      2. Locking Serving Tongs w/ Silicone Tips // This might seem like a no-brainer for most of you. But these tongs made the list because I use them for everything! This is such a versatile tool and can be used for anything from tossing a salad to cooking on the grill. The small green tongs were the only pair I had for the longest time, and last week I finally purchased some bigger ones. I can't wait to use them! You can buy a similar set here.

        3. Spurtle // If you're anything like I was, you're probably wondering what the heck a spurtle is. I had never even heard of this tool when my mother-in-law gifted a set of spurtles to me last year. Apparently, the tool originates in Scotland where it was originally dowel shaped and used for stirring porridge. However, the American version combined the concept of the wooden dowel, and a spatula. I LOVE the spurtle for pretty much anything, from scrambling eggs to stirring spaghetti sauce. The thin, rounded edges make it easy to scrape all of the good bits off the bottom of your pan, and I generally find myself reaching for my spurtles way more often than my spoons or spatulas. It's truly a unique but extremely useful all-purpose tool!
