Fall Goals 2017

Graphic Created Using Canva

Hey everyone, happy first day of Autumn! Too bad it's literally 80 degrees here in Pittsburgh - I will SWEAT in my cardigans and long sleeved shirts if I have to! Okay, maybe not...it's supposed to cool down by the end of the month, thankfully, so I'll try to hold out until then. Boy, has it been a minute since I've had a chance to sit down and actually get a post published! Life is crazy, chaotic, fun and tiring lately, and to be honest I've been struggling to keep up with it all. In the midst of it all, I'm thankful for a few moments to put into my favorite creative outlet, and share with you some of the big (and small!) goals I'm hoping to accomplish this season!

1. DECLUTTER. DECLUTTER. DECLUTTER.
I've said it a million times, and I've said it again. Fall is my absolute favorite season and time of the year. BUT, it's hard to get cozied up and relax with a hot beverage, when my upstairs hall closet has things falling out of it every time you open the door. Does anyone else feel like they're just not at peace in their home when parts of it are a mess? I know some clutter is inevitable, but my goal is to really try hard to get rid of junk we don't need that's just taking up space.

2. Make The Perfect Pumpkin Smoothie
This can't be THAT hard. But every year I try to create the perfect, most satisfying pumpkin smoothie, and end up with a bitter tasting, watered down cup of disappointment. I LOVE smoothies, and they are becoming my go-to breakfast, and all I want during the fall is a sweet, satisfying and healthy pumpkin smoothie.

3. Make A Pie Completely From Scratch
This one will probably end in doom and disappointment, but I want to at least TRY. I've always wanted to improve my baking skills but it's hard to find time to do it! I'd love to try my hand at making a homemade pie without taking any shortcuts ('m looking at you, Pillsbury Pie Crust).

4. Go To A Pumpkin Patch
This one is a given, of course, but now that we have our little guy with us, I'm even more excited for him to experience all of the best things about Autumn - pumpkin picking obviously at the top of that list! This is easily mine and Jack's favorite part of the season. There are SO many fall festivals happening in our area this year, and I might just have to hit up every single one of them (if this weather ever cools down!)

5. Be More Consistent With Blogging
Now that I'm starting work again, I really want to make an effort to spend time on something I really enjoy. I LOVE being a full-time Mom, but I still cherish my alone time when I can give undivided attention to something I love (like blogging!)

6. Finish Decorating My Home Office
I will have a post up about this soon! Since I'm going to be working at home (starting Monday...eek!) I wanted to renovate our smallest bedroom into a cute and functional office space. I still need to hang some art and add a few more finishing touches, but I'll make sure I update you all once it's finalized!

7. Be More Consistent With Budgeting
This is one of the bigger, more important goals I have for this season. To be honest, our household budget could use some refining - to say the least - and it would be awesome and relieving to get all of the details ironed out and set in place before the start of the new year.

8. Try A New Fall Recipe
This is a goal of mine all year-round, but there are some really good recipes out there that are especially good in the fall (butternut squash anyone?) and I'd love to try out something new!

What are some of your goals for this fall?

Xoxo, Kate
